There are certain things that I'm willing to accept in the name of suspension of disbelief. Liam Neeson as a nigh unstoppable killing machine? Sure. His daughter, a young woman who hasn't even gotten her driver's license yet, managing to successfully pull off a high-speed car chase in the crowded streets of Istanbul? Okie-dokie. Neeson using the sound of grenade explosions to triangulate his location in a massive city? You got it. But the idea that his wife and daughter would travel to Istanbul and surprise Neeson with a vacation...after having the DAUGHTER BEING KIDNAPPED BY EVIL EUROPEANS IN THE LAST FILM...is just too much to take. And sane person would
never return to Europe under any circumstances if they lived the events of the first film. That being said, I did enjoy the scenes where Neeson had to work together with his daughter to free himself and locate his missing wife. These two characters had a great dynamic and if the film had focused primarily on them, I would have liked the film immensely. But these good parts are vastly overshadowed by shoddily edited action scenes, generic action movie dialogue, and cliched story beats.
