All the minis are 20mm majority Hotspur/FAA, Stronghold Tinzano, a kit FT. The table mat is by Monty.
Really good fun game and thanks to Richard I'm going to have to check my forces again as I misread the numbers in the Carlist platoon and gave him the platoon with 2 minis missing. I sorted this out when I got home, luckily I had 2 spare minis and quickly reprinted the berets for the missing 2 minis.
Richard gets stuck into Jim 's section holding the wood while the rest of his force fires into another section holding the enclosure. My HMG waits patiently for Derek to show himself again, my first fire wasted 3 from one of his sections.
One section with the Sgt sweeps round the wood to attack Derek while the other with the Platoon HQ advances over the open ground to the village.My plan was to envelope Derek from both flanks. Jim's Tinzano broke down after Derek persuaded him to go full tilt down the road, Derek then proceeded to block it's field of fire with his tank. Nice of him I thought Jim did not agree.
Richard's charge on the flank wiped Jim's section out and took a jump off point, starting a major firefight over control of the wood. Richard started getting the worse of it and what was left was pinned down. I managed to get a CoC ending the turn, lifting the pins and Jim losing the jump off point.
On the other flank Derek got his FT to the edge of the village where it too broke down unfortunately for me he was able to get a couple of turns firing with it's MG and took out a few Falangists. Not enough to halt them and I took out 2 of his teams holding the village in hand to hand. Our other sections were now locked in another firefight. Morale was dropping for everyone and Richard was reduced to 4 dice like the rest of us.
